TYPE: A three panel Tibetan tsuktruk

CIRCA: 1900

A three paneled lime green tsuktruk (tsukdruk) or blanket. the individual strips having been woven on a narrow loom and then sewn together to complete the product. These minimalist weaving’s are often associated with the nomadic lifestyle, and were also made by mothers for their sons to take with them when they joined a monastic order. This particular piece has an appealing abashed yellow-green patina, and is edged by a red pile strip that mimics the oft favoured red felt borders that surround many Tibetan carpets. All natural dyes with a striking abrash.
