A Finnish ryijy featuring a folk-art design popular in the Pori area on the south-west coast of Finland in the early part of the 19th century. A red triangular ‘sawtooth’ border encloses a straw-yellow center field featuring three floral displays emanating from pots below, the central tulip-like flower being dominate. In the upper part of the field the years 1825 – 1973 have been incorporated into the design, indicating it was made in 1973. It has wool warp and weft, the colours are good and the size is 152cm x 109cm. It is in very good condition.
