This tantric mandala painting has all the hallmarks of having been painted by a Newari* artist in Nepal (as opposed to by a Tibetan in Tibet) and hence would have been referred to as paubha** – which is what the Newari people of Nepal call their thangka-like paintings – and depicts a Chakrasamvara*** Manadala****
