TYPE:  A small table / altar cover (?) — sold

CIRCA: 1920

A small Tibetan carpet that was possibly used as a small table or altar cover, although it may have been part of a gabney (cushion cover). A central floral design in the main field is anchored in the four corners by bats. The inner border features the precious jewel design while the outer is of an interlinking floral design. The bottom edge of the carpet has a small area of damage, hence the wider cloth border it would seem. All natural dyes with a supersaturated red. ALREADY SOLD.
