TYPE: a pair of Tibetan gabney, or cushion covers — sold

CIRCA: 1920’s

A matched pair of  Tibetan gabney, or cushion covers depicting the disembodied head or Zeepa (Zeepak, Dzeepa). A close inspection will show  a slight difference though in the design and colouration in parts of each rug, exemplifying the weavers and dyers art. A mix of aniline and natural dyes and good overall condition. Somewhat rare today to see a pair still ‘intact’, as they are often separated and sold individually by ethnic traders, so a good opportunity for the astute buyer to purchase a pair. ALREADY SOLD.
