TYPE: a Tibetan double dragon khaden — sold

CIRCA: 1920

A  khaden with a classic Tibetan design. That is, two four clawed orange scaled dragons each chasing their own flaming jewel through the clouds on a dark midnight blue background with a border of stylised sky, clouds and mountains motifs, that is with the sacred Mount Meru rising in the center on all four sides. Hand spun cotton warp and hand spun wool weft and pile. A mixture of aniline and natural dyes, and a very good example of the genre. ALREADY SOLD.
