Mongolian under-saddle carpet specifically for use with a camel, made between 1900 and circa 1920 – probably in the Baotou-Suiyuan region of China – with cotton warp and weft. Size 132cm x 50cm at center / 57cm at ‘hips’ (approximately 52in x 20in / 22in). These camel under-saddle carpets are seldom found on the market today and this specimen is in very good condition. Would suit a saddle-carpet collector, or anyone looking for an unusual piece.
