TYPE: Yomut Turkomen 9 gol juval (matching pair)

CIRCA: 1880

Matching pair of very attractive Yomud Turkoman 9 ‘gol’ (i.e. design element) juvals from the Middle Amu Darya region of current day Turkmenistan with their plain kilim-like backs still attached. They were made in the second half of the 1800’s, have glossy wool pile with natural dyes, wool warp and wool weft and the sizes are 112cm x 75cm and 115cm x 74cm. No fading or colour runs, and no repairs or reweaves. Uncommon to find a matching pair on the market these days, as most are separated and sold as individual pieces, which we will not do; we will only sell them as a pair. Coming from a long established collection they are in excellent condition, especially for their age.
