Matching pair of beautiful Yomud Turkoman 16 ‘gol’ (i.e. design element) juvals from the Middle Amu Darya region of current day Turkmenistan with their plain kilim-like backs still attached. They were made in the second half of the 1800’s with natural dyes and wool warp and weft and the sizes are 116cm x 85cm and 120cm x 81cm. No fading or colour runs (nice abrash in the lower part of one though), and no repairs or reweaves; just the one small hole in one as can be seen just above the ‘fold’ at bottom, and some fraying in two spots at the very top edge of the other. Uncommon to find a matching pair on the market now-a-days, as most are separated and sold as individual pieces, which we will not do; we will only sell them as a pair. Coming from a long held collection they are in excellent condition, especially for their age.
