A beautiful Tibetan khaden featuring an abstract design of a tiger pelt, with its stripes emanating off to either side of the ‘backbone’. This type of designed carpet had various uses, i.e. tantric rites, Buddhist ceremonies, and even covering the packs of a well-to-do travelers goods on horse or yaks so as to ward off evil spirits. All natural dyes, consisting of a strongly abrashed walnut brown main field and a magnificent, almost shimmering, electric blue for the stripes. A collectors piece.
